Growth Creates Problems

Whenever you have real growth as an initiative, whenever you really have an idea of where you want to go that’s different from where you’re at- a problem is created.

The problem is, how do I get from here to there?

In our view, and in our vernacular, problems are the opportunity. They’re not the thing to be avoided or not be talked about. Problems are the thing to focus on, and that’s what we’re here to do… take a problem and transform it. That’s how we get to goal.

If you think about it- in order to grow, you have to have a problem. If you have no problems, there’s no need for growth. We’ve got a little toddler in the house out of 4 kids now- the oldest is 20, the youngest is 2. It’s incredible watching the rapid development of a toddler. They just have to grow because they’ve got a lot of problems they’re working to overcome. They just grow and grow and grow. And as we age, we contend to not have our sights on how much we’re here to grow or what we want to learn and explore. Our problem space gets smaller, we get more comfortable, the growth slows down.

We contend to rekindle that desire and curiosity for growth. We strive to create a future that is clear and compelling. A dream outcome that inspires you to get up each morning absolutely determined to make that thing happen. But the moment you get identified with that clear vision… problems show up.

“What’s the space between here and there?”

At any given time, getting into conversation and knowing how to engage with someone with quality to really help draw out where they’re at, what their problems are, what’s the dream outcome? And getting sufficient quantity to build trust, demonstrate that you care, and then bring in value.

That’s what recruiting is.

Recruiting is ultimately about creating a dream outcome for someone. If you’re good, if you know what you’re doing, if you know why you’re here- recruiting isn’t about bringing over production or getting another notch on my whiteboard of goals. Recruiting is about, “How do I get in relationship with the right people and create a better outcome for them than the one that they currently have available?”
